152. The Music Behind the Muse: Joe Alwyn - folklore (2020)
A fortnight ago, we spoke about if Taylor could ever give Joe peace in the third installment of the Joe Alwyn Muses miniseries. And in 2020, Taylor Swift shocked the world when she surprise dropped her 8th studio album, ‘folklore’. While most were shocked because the record came out of nowhere (less than a year after ‘Lover’, we might add), many Swifties were outright gagged that Taylor opened an album during the supposed Lover Era with a song about yearning for a past fling! In today’s episode, Dani & Olivia continue the Music Behind the Muse miniseries to break down each track from ‘folklore’ to look for “Joefluence.” So what do you think- how much of this fantastical album was rooted in real-life experiences from our girl? Did this album show cracks in the glass, as it were? Tune in to hear us shake it all out!

But what was really going on in their relationship at the time? Tune in to hear us talk about what we know (and what we don’t) as we cover their timeline from where we left off in 2019 to the release of 2020’s ‘Evermore’!

Compared to 2023 and 2024, 2025 was a relatively low-key year for Taylor Swift. And yet, it is indeed when you are stacking it against the years we have covered so far! Join us in today’s episode as we return from our midseason break to discuss a timeline of the biggest moments of Taylor’s 2025. Plus, per tradition, your hosts recap their 2025 predictions to see where they guessed correctly, and they give their 2026 Taylor predictions as well! Let us know…what are your 2026 Taylor predictions?

It’s no secret to Swifties everywhere that Taylor pawsitively loves a cat purring in her lap because it loves her. 144. Mental Cages: Eldest Daughter
“The Life of a Showgirl” may have given us one of Taylor’s most divisive tracks ever…and it’s a track 5, to boot. ‘Eldest Daughter’ has a lot of things going on, but one thing we can all agree on is that Taylor is attempting to be vulnerable on this song. She spends the track exploring themes of childhood-rooted walls, personal insecurities, and promises for the future. Because your hosts do their best work when there is a mystery to be solved, Olivia & Dani decided to place this song in the ‘Mental Cages’ miniseries to analyze it further! Hop into this episode to see if you can join us in making sense of this emotional and misunderstood tune.

In this episode, your hosts continue a beloved Taylearning tradition as they guess what each of the tracks on “The Life of a Showgirl” will sound like. Taylor Swift surprised the music and fandom world when she announced that TS12, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’, would be produced exclusively by Max Martin & Shellback. Taylor has been quite forthcoming about this album being inspired by the actor, but how much of it has “Joefluence”? Tune in to hear us shake it all out!
